What is a dental bridge?

A dental bridge is a false tooth or teeth, known as a pontic, which is fused between two porcelain crowns to fill in the area left by a missing tooth or teeth. The two crowns holding it in place that are attached onto your teeth on each side of the false tooth. This is known as a fixed bridge. This procedure is used to replace one or more missing teeth. Fixed bridges cannot be taken out of your mouth as you might do with removable partial dentures.

Bridges can reduce your risk of gum disease, help correct some bite issues and even improve your speech. Bridges require your commitment to serious oral hygiene, but will last as many years.

Our office is dedicated to putting patient and community safety as our number one priority.  As a result, we are taking additonal infection control measures you may not be familiar with.  The infection control measures include seeing staff in full face mask and gown.  These steps are recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Healther Administration (OSHA).  We are also limiting the number of people in the building at a given time.  You may be asked to call us from the parking lot when you arrive.  A staff member will deliver any necessary paperwork to your car for you to complete before entering the building.  Rest assured, infection control and patient safety has always been and will remain our number one priorty.
